Privacy Policy

Maintory ("the app", "we") helps you keep a record of your vehicles — expenses, service, fuel, reminders, and related notes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain because that is how the app is built.

Information we collect

• Anonymous identifier. The app does not require you to sign in or create an account. On first launch it creates an anonymous identifier so your data can be saved and synced to your device. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other contact information.
• Car data you enter. The vehicles, expenses, service records, reminders, mileage, and notes you add to the app. This is information you choose to provide.
• Preferences. Settings such as your units, currency, language, and notification choice.
• Anonymous usage analytics. To understand which features are used and to improve the app, we record anonymous, product-interaction events (for example: a vehicle was added, a reminder was completed, the upgrade screen was viewed). These events carry only categories and counts — never your receipt text, vehicle identification number (VIN), license plate, notes, or any free-text you enter. They are tied to your anonymous identifier, are not linked to your personal identity, and are not used to track you across other apps or services.

Maintory does not collect location data, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and does not include advertising. The Maintory website at maintory.pro uses Google Analytics (with IP anonymization) to measure aggregate visit statistics such as page views and country-level audience. The app's in-app analytics are provided by PostHog and are processed on servers in the European Union.

How we use your information

Your information is used only to provide the app: to sign you in, to store and sync your car records across your devices, and to show local maintenance reminders. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Maintory uses Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to store your data securely. Firebase processes this data on our behalf as a service provider. Your records are tied to your anonymous identifier and are not accessible to other users. Anonymous usage analytics are processed by PostHog on servers in the European Union. Both act as service providers that process data on our behalf.

Photos and car transfers

Photos and documents you attach to a car, expense, or service record are stored only on your device. In normal use they are never uploaded to our servers.

Maintory lets you transfer a car, together with its history, to another owner. If you choose to include photos and documents in a transfer, those images are temporarily uploaded to Google Firebase Storage so the recipient's device can download them. They are encrypted in transit and at rest, are accessible only to you and the person who receives the transfer, and are deleted automatically once the transfer is accepted or cancelled — and in all cases within 24 hours. A transfer also shares the car's details (such as make, model, year, and the number of records) with the recipient you send it to. If you do not include photos and documents, no images leave your device.

Notifications

With your permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device to remind you before a service is due. These are generated on your device and can be turned off at any time in the app's Settings or in your device settings.

Your choices and rights

• You can view and edit your car data in the app at any time.
• You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at the address below, and we will remove it from our systems.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as you use the app. When you request deletion, your records are removed from our systems.

Children

Maintory is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
